Ashley St. Clairclaims in a bombshell new interview that she turned down Elon Musk’s multimillion-dollar deal to keepher son’s paternity quietbecause she didn’t want the newborn “to feel like he’s a secret.”
The author, 26, alleged to the Wall Street Journal Tuesday that the billionaire tech mogul, 53, offered her a one-time $15 million payment, as well as $100,000 a month until the childturned 21, in exchange for her silence on the paternity matter.
St. Clair — who also disclosed for the first time that her baby boy’s name is Romulus St. Clair — claimed she was approached by Musk’s “longtime fixer,” Jared Birchall, after she gave birth last September.
He allegedly urged hernot to reveal her relationship with the SpaceX founderand told her she would receive financial support in return.

St. Clair told the WSJ that she decided not to sign the dotted line because she didn’t want her now-7-month-old, whom is referred to in court docs by the initials “R.S.C,” to feel illegitimate.
The nondisclosure agreement she was reportedly offered would allegedly prohibit her from speaking publicly about Musk —but didn’t prevent him from making disparaging comments about her.
The contract would also not cover security expenses, provide support if their child became gravely ill and did not include a trust fund or life insurance if Musk died before the child was 21, St. Clair further claimed.
Additionally, the mom of one would allegedly have to pay back the $15 million lump sum she was paid upfront if she ever broke the terms of the agreement.

St. Clair appeared to imply that she felt intimidated by Birchall, who allegedly warned her that it “always, alwaysleads to a worse outcome for that womanthan what it would have been otherwise.”
Musk had been in a very contentious custody battle with his ex-girlfriend Grimes over their three children —X Æ A-Xii, 4, Exa Dark Sideræl, 3, and son Tau Techno Mechanicus, 2 — since 2023.
WSJ reported Tuesday that Birchall often acted as a “go-between for various negotiations” for that dispute and was present for courtroom fights. Musk and Grimes reportedly quietly settled their custody case, however, last August.
St. Clair, for her part, claimed she obliged with some of Musk’s wishes throughout her pregnancy, including staying inside her apartment so that their secret wouldn’t get out. In return, he allegedly sent her $2 million for expenses, half of which was a loan, according to a text message viewed by the WSJ.

The influencer then gave birth in September 2024, suing Musk for paternity — and requesting sole custody — five months later.
The tech billionaire, who allegedly “substantially” reduced St. Clair child support following her lawsuit, questioned the infant’s paternity last month but was “not against finding out.”
The WSJ also noted Tuesday that test results from Labcorp came in four days prior, showing there is a “99.9999%” certainty Musk is Romulus’ father.
Musk has yet to respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

The businessman has welcomed 13 other children over the years, beginning with his and then-wife Justine Wilson’s late son, Nevada, who died in 2002 at just 10 weeks old.
The exes are also the parents of twins Griffin and Vivian, 20, and triplets Kai, Saxon and Damian, 19, — although Musk is estranged from Vivian, who recently called him a “pathetic man-child” in a scathing interview.
Additionally, Musk has three children with Grimes, as well as Strider and Azure, 3, Arcadia, 1, and Seldon, whose age is not known, with Shivon Zilis.

St. Clair alleged on Tuesday that she and the mogul conceived Romulus during a January 2024 vacation in St. Bart’s when she told Musk she was ovulating and he asked, “What are we waiting for?”
She claimed that they had talked about children before, with Musk allegedly telling her to “pick a name” for their future child the first time they slept together.
Musk allegedly urged her to deliver via cesarean section, which he has publicly said is better for brain size, but she did not do so.
